I would ask one of these guys to lay out the numbers: what is the curb weight, the GVWR, and the exact "fudge factor" value. My guess: they'll start dancing like a politician asked to explain what happened to pre-election promises.
EDIT: I see Chotch already noted the same thing. I like the "in writing" feature
exactly, well said and funny.

I have the rail mount Anderson, it weighs 40 lbs. “pretty” sure that includes the aluminum pin adaptor. I think the lightest conventional fifth wheel is a 100 lbs.and up from there.

But to that you have to add the weight of the safety chains and the adapter that attaches to the king pin of the trailer, neither are needed for a conventional 5th wheel set up.

40lbs includes the aluminum adaptor. Maybe 10 lbs for the chains, still only 1/2 the weight of the lightest conventional 5th wheel. If payload is an issue this is the way to go 😎

? If you have to weight the hitch to calculate if your tow can tow your trailer .
You better get a bigger tow . OMG. That's like How much does a 12 pack of Canadian weigh and can I take it with me or do I have to drink 6 first . Ha !

I'm with you. If I need to monitor it down to the last few pounds, it's time for a truck with a payload package. I like a margin. With payload, at least a few hundred pounds.
