2015 F150 - Hottest selling vehicle in the US

Came across this article (which isn't really "news" - trucks have been leading the way in sales for a long time), about the top ten hottest selling vehicles in the US. F150 is at the top, followed by the Chevy Silverado and the Dodge Ram. Apparently Americans are still truck crazy. Having driven and towed with my F150 now for over 6000 miles and a couple of months, I can see why. It's a wonderful vehicle -- and I'm glad I got it.

Ford F150 has been the number one selling truck for a very long time.

Mine isn't a 2015, it's a 2014... but I LOVE my Ford F-150 w/ecoboost. It may not get the fuel mileage of other brands but so far I haven't found anything I don't like. It's head and shoulders above the fuel mileage I got in my 2000 Ford F-150 with a Triton V-8. My truck is my daily driver...

I also own a 1953 Ford F-100... that sucker is 62 years old... GO FORD! I won't tell you my age.

Donna, I had a 1999 Ford F-250 super duty with the triton V10. Talk about bad gas mileage, but it had tons of power!
My 2013 F250 has there new 6.2 V8 and is about the same as there V10 in the power and torque but much better fuel mileage.

Emile, I think my new truck has my power than my old Ford. I stomped on the accelerator pedal to get out of a bad situation on the freeway and dang near lost it! Head snapped back, wonder I didn't give myself whip lash.

Government contracts help prop these number up. Overall F series is king.

I love Fords, how can I not.. I currently own four. But, I'm a realist and am not blind.. there's some great features to some of the Chevy and Ram trucks I'd like to see Ford incorporate into the F-150...

That foot cut out in the rear bumper of the Chev.. is SWEET (she who needs a ladder to get in the bed of the truck when the tailgate is down.)

That's strange. We don't have that problem.

On our recent trip, we spoke with a neighbor who had a 2014 F-150 EcoBoost and was towing an older 31' Airstream. He said he was getting about 16 mph and, as he traveled from Twin Falls, ID, to the Oregon Coast, he crossed mountain passes that were 5,550 ft or higher with hardly a hiccup from his truck.

Trust me, we've been looking long and hard at the Fords lately. Of course, my only fear is that if we get a bigger tow, can a bigger Escape be far behind?

Jan, You're towing with the Tundra Double Cab seen in your photo gallery, right? If so, you might be surprised at the size difference.

My 2015 F150 Supercrew with a 5 1/2' bed is only 2 inches taller and 2 inches longer than your 2004 Tundra:

Toyota Width - 6 ft 7.7 inches
Toyota Height - 6 ft 3 inches
Toyota Length - 19 ft 2.1 inches
Toyota Wheelbase - 11 ft 8.5 inches

F150 Width - 6 ft 7.9 inches
F150 Height - 6 ft 4.9 inches
F150 Length - 19 ft 3.9 inches
F150 Wheelbase - 12 ft 1 inch

They're basically the same size, or so close as to not make a difference.

Yeah, your step is nifty Robert. Unfortunately wouldn't work for me when hooking up Ten Forward. I only have 2" of clearance between the down tailgate and the trailer. Besides, the ladder needs to be at the truck wheel for me, not at the tailgate.

I guess I need either longer arms or longer legs or both

Something like this will help you stretch those legs and arms

Well of course you can't use it when towing or while hooking up. We can't use ours that way either. Was just being a smart ass.

Always a better option than being a dumb ass.
