Check your spare, mine was not full sized with my Ram, just a temporary.

Yes, the 20" wheels look the best IMO. I know there are trad-offs, as you described a little stiffer ride, maybe new tires more expensive 20" vs 18".

Your truck looks great! Could you post a pic of your window sticker, so we can know exactly what options you got? Thanks

Thanks for posting window sticker, looks like your side mirrors are standard on Lariat. Great tow truck with 38 gallon tank and towing package, all you need IMO.

Just to clarify, the trailer tow mirrors were not standard on the Lariat. The Ford stickers can be confusing because they mention all the equipment that comes standard on that package, even if the truck is not equipped with it because you upgraded a feature. The large power telescoping and folding trailer tow mirrors are one example. They were a $250 option, and are listed under optional equipment/other. I still prefer the looks of the smaller power folding mirrors that match the body color (as in my 2015) but this is one concession I made to safety instead of looks.

And one of the best options to get if towing. You probably won't need to extend the mirrors much if any, but the view they afford is fantastic.

Hi: Jim Bennett... Yes, a good option to have. For Canada they also require additional lighting and end up costing more. If only they could be used to check for "Backbiting". Alf

Mine came with lights Alf, but I can find no online listing of lighting requirements for towing mirrors in any Canadian province. Do you have a link or a reference?

Hi: rbryan4... On Canadian price and build Lariat 4X2 Super Crew optional power / fold/ pwr. glass/ heated T/Tow mirrors. $570. Requires addition of LED side mirror spotlights. $820 total cost.
That's a lot of "Hind sight". Alf

Ah, I misunderstood. You mean the lights are required by Ford. I thought you meant the mirrors had to be lit by law.

Very weird though. The power telescoping and folding mirrors on the Lariat include LEDs, at least in the US. Sounds like they're gouging you.

Option and package selections for the smaller Canadian market are normally limited compared to the U.S. market. Interesting, given that the vehicles generally come out of the same assembly plants, but it is likely (to some extent, and giving the manufacturers the benefit of the doubt) related to inventory challenges.

Very occasionally, this works out in our favour. For instance, for many models and years Toyota's optional towing preparation package for the U.S. has been standard equipment in Canada. The only Ford example that I know of is that 36-gallon F-150 fuel tank, which is optional (at extra cost) in the U.S. and standard equipment in many configurations in Canada (but unavailable in the other configurations). In both cases, the manufacturer has made a feature standard to allow the reduction of option complexity.

Ford is not very consumer friendly on options as other manufactors. They do this so you have to get higher priced packages with no wiggle room where as others do have wiggle room on options.

I suppose if they had a hard time selling F150's, they might come up with a more consumer friendly option package, or sell each option independent of the others. As it sits now, they are asking for, and getting, premium prices - and they can't keep them on the lot. I special ordered mine because there was no way I would have found one with the equipment I wanted on a dealer lot.

Around these parts, another truck I keep seeing alot of is an F250 Super Duty King Ranch. Probably saw half a dozen brand new ones today driving in the Hill Country.

King Ranch

When I went to Iowa State there was a major called Animal Science. An introductory course on Beef Cattle was mandatory. The King Ranch provided a nice photograph of their famous herd sire " Monkey" to each student. Lots of them farm boys didn't have much to decorate their dorm rooms with so Monkey graced many a wall in those dorms. Every time I see a King Ranch pickup, I think of those pictures. No girly pictures for those guys, that's why they called it "Iowa Straight". Farrah came later.

Fading memories

My roomie was an AnSci guy. I was FWB. No Monkey business for me, I had a Mink on the wall. FWB : Fish and Wildlife Biology. Those Sports Illustrated February issues from back then seem pretty tame today. Happy St Pat's Day to all. I'm diluting my green beer with tears cause Gonzaga took my Buckeyes out. Oh well, they're still my boys.

Hey Robert, how are you liking that new 10-speed transmission in your 2018 F-150?
