5.0 TA length from bumper to rear of trailer?
Hi,
I'm reserving campsites, and I don't have our trailer yet. What is the length from the bumper of the tow vehicle to the rear bumper of the trailer? I have a 6ft bed, thanks

I think the trailer alone is 21 feet.

Ya pretty much wondering how much of the 5th wheel length is over the bed. Some of these campsites are very strict on length, such as Yellowstone.

36' for my 5.0 TA hitched to 2016 F150 Supercab, 6.5 bed. When I look for sites I look for ones that'll fit 21 foot trailer not combined length.

5TA /Toyota Tundra length
BC Ferries just measured my 2016 5TA and my Toyota Tundra 6.5 bed at 35 feet when calculating my fare.

Ya I usually do too but reservations at Yellowstone are asking to put total length specifically. Thanks for the info.

My 6.5' bed truck (2017 F-150 Supercrew) and my 2017 5.0 TA (with the Andersen hitch adapter turned "backwards" - the "normal" position for 5.0 TAs) is a little over 35'. Unfortunately, I don't have the exact number since it is in the truck and I'm too far away to conveniently check it.
When I'm looking for campsites online, or by phone, I say my trailer is 20'. This often gives me more choice in campsites and I've never had any trouble getting into any of those campsites with my 21' trailer. YMMV

Maybe that's because some of their access roads have really tight turns? In Acadia Maine they have restrictions on vehicle length and height because of switchbacks and some low tressels.

At Yellowstone I only got 35' or bigger, at none of them was the length of my rig checked. At Canyon the truck just fit backed into a 35'er with the camper disconnected, the other 2 campground sites were even bigger. I did see a few of the huge rigs, you know, with a 40' fifth wheel or some such, jammed into whatever was available. I saw no one forced to move cause they were too long.
FWIW, we looked at a few of the small campgrounds in the central area of the park that are first come first serve. I only saw a couple sites in each that I thought my rig would fit in, and they were all taken of course. I'm glad I had made reservations.

Hi: drjenk... Here's a pic of our rig on site in Yellowstone's Madison CG. All sites in the CG. were loops of pavement off the park roads. I think their rules state all wheels must be on the paved loop.
The second pic is at Artists point. Alf

If you add 21' to the distance from your front bumper to the center of your truck's rear axle, you will be very close to your total length.

Don't know if this helps, but ~4 years ago we camped at one of those "length restricted" Yellowstone camp sites with a 17' Casita, pulled by a 2004 Volvo XC90. ~33' hitched, and if I recall, we unhitched, pulled up to be able to walk through, and still had room in front of the hood. Just FYI - I know that what you really want is to be able to answer the question, when reserving or when asked by the big hatted guy/gal...

Well BC Ferries measured my 5.0 single with 6.5 ft. bed F150 Supercab at 35 feet as well, going to the Island I thought it was 34 and there was no lines on the pavement to check so the fare taker took my word. While on the Island I measured and it is 35.
I usually look for campsite that will take a 20 footer although some places (like ON) I must show 18 feet or it locks me out of booking many sites which are actually quite long enough. Last time in ON though was limited to length as the hydro post serves two sites, is at the road, and even with my 30 amp extension I had to pull much further forward on the site than I planned.

I measured Ten Forward recently. From the spare tire on the back of the trailer (the point farthest back) to front of the truck front license plate (the farthest front), I measure 36' 1" hooked up.

Thanks all, very helpful. We made reservations in Grant Campground and I found a 40' one just to be sure.
