One problem with those old nose bras was that they would trap dirty - and salty - water between the cover and the paint. The Escape shouldn't be harmed by the salt (no corrosion issue), but there's still abrasion from the shifting cover. For that reason, a self-supporting cover standing off of the surface seems desirable to me... like Scott's diamond plate wings, or Airstream's stainless steel stone guards (which are apparently often called "segment protectors").

Once again thank you for the bamboo shower mat idea. Send your snow north, 40 degrees and melting. Scott

Fat bikes are FUN!
AK,

One of our bikes is a comfort bike with wide handle bars. Do you think there is enough material in the cover to accommodate?

Shouldn't be a problem. The newer mt bikes and our fat bikes have pretty wide handle bars and have not had any problems with the fabric being to tight. The biggest problem I had was with the bike handle bars coming into contact with the back window on frost heave sections of road. Just pulled the 1 UP out a inch or so. (I'll try to measure the handlebars after I get off work). Scott

Ran out to the bike cage, 74/Cm. So two bikes with 74/CM handlebars, no problem. Scott
