5.0TA Pin Box Adjustment

Hey 5.0TA owners I have a question. My trailer tows slightly nose high and I have to raise the front several inches when hitching. Do I need to raise the pin box or is this normal? Thanks jn

The pin box on our 5.0 was installed to low from ETI, so the camper sat nose high. I raised the pin box to the upper holes (lowering the camper - think about it) and raised the ball on the Andersen hitch. I can't remember the numbers, but raising the pin box lowered the front 4" and then raising the ball 3" gave us a net drop of 1", enough so now our camper rides perfectly level.

Enjoy,

Perry

Thanks Perry Sounds like you had what I have. How heavy is the pin box? I'm just a frail old man

Is your hitch already at the lowest height setting? That would be a much easier adjustment than the pin box.

David I had one set of bolt holes I could raise the pin box and I just finished the job. I haven't connected to the truck yet. Probably do that tomorrow. Then I'll find out if my efforts were wasted. The ball on the Andersen was as low as it would go.

Perry I just finished the pin box move and I'll check it tomorrow.
Thanks for your response. It inspired me
