I'm not the "you" but:
You'll find the Andersen hitch is chosen by the vast majority of 5.0 owners. Is it better? Define better. Everyone has reasons for their choice of hitch. We have the Andersen rail mount version.
Because we were hauling at least one trike in the bed of our pickup we chose the rail version of the Andersen, since it takes up less bed space (24" x 24") allowing us to easily put a trike in back. The gooseneck ball version is 31.5" long by 35.6" wide. That takes up nearly a foot of space between the wheel wells, much less it being 7.5" longer. We were not willing to give up that much space in the truck bed. This is our second 5th wheel (2001 Jayco Eagle 26') and the bed rails do not bother us.
Also, to get clearance for our 20" trike wheels we chose to have the 2 1/2" high lift package. ETI installed our 5.0 hitch on the camper incorrectly, the trike wheel would rub the hitch, and the front of the camper was a little over 1" too high and the ball too low in the bed of the pickup. We raised the ball AND the hitch on the camper, so now our camper sits almost perfectly level. The wheel clears by about 2".
Enjoy,
Perry
