5th wheel plug in

Question for the 5er people out there.

Where do you plug your 5er into your tow vehicle? Do you use the plug on or below the bumper, or do you have a plug in the bed of the truck?
How and where does one have a plug put in the bed?

I know I still have 88 days, but I need something to keep my mind busy!

Thank you for any tips!

Vicki

Vicki,
You plug in at the bumper just as you would for a bumper tow RV. And the emergency brake lanyard will be looped to the 5er hitch. I will help you and explain anything your unsure of @ Triple T. I am looking forward to seeing your new 5TA and comparing the two.

You can have a plug put into the side of the bed, across from the hitch. That way nothing is dangling or possibly looped over the tailgate. I've seen a number of folks pulling 5ers where this is done. It's on my list.

I'm going the plug in the bed route.

Thank you all!

Donna and Bob, yes I think I will go the route. I would rather not have stuff hanging over the tailgate. Going to have to get one of those truck steps that hang over the wheel...little old short me can't even see into the bed!

Dave, may or may not see you at Triple T - I sold my little egg. I will for sure see you in Bandera! As soon as my new baby gets here, you are certainly welcome to come see anytime!

Gm trucks even have wiring available in the harness along the frame for adding another receptacle in the box.

It is absolute torture!
If it wasn't for a bum shoulder and no rig, I would be heading to Galveston for a gtg!
