buying new truck need info
any one out there driving 3.5 ecoboost or 2.7 ecoboost ford, we have
21 ft , looking for real fuel numbers,when towing ,

Tow is a 2016 f150 2.7 ecoboost supercrew shortbed for a 2017 21. No trailer get 20-22. With trailer 11-12.

2015 F150 2.7L EcoBoost, towing our 19 which averages around 4000-4050 lbs.
Towing mileage average - 15 mpg.
Non towing mileage average - 25 mpg.
This is based on a mix of interstates, secondary roads, etc, over longer distances and a couple of years worth of data.
You'll be extremely pleased towing a 21 with the EcoBoost V6, but I would HIGHLY recommend you make sure to get the extended range fuel tank (36 gallon). The range with this option is incredible.

13.5 to 16.5 towing 5.0TA with 2016 F150 4x4 with 2.7 . Can get 22 highway not towing and averages 16 around town. This is in New England

Remember these American type folks are quoting based on there small gallons. Your results will be better with Imperial gallons.
I now much prefer to think in litres/100 km for fuel consumption. That said, towing my 5.0TA with a 2015 3.5 L EcoBoost, I am usually between 19-22 L/100 km, or 12.8-14.9 mpg imp 10.7-12.4 mpg us. I do have to admit to being a little speedy most of the time, usually doing at least 10 kph over, up to a max of 120 kph.

Robert, I would agree with you on the benefits of a long range fuel tank; especially on some of the more remote regions of North America. But unfortunately, the range on my bladder is only about 120 miles at 60 mph. Whoa is me!

Since the OP is Cdn will say that our mileage non-towing is as good as 10l/100km, towing usually 14-15l/100km or as bad as 17 into a head wind at 105 or driving 110+ on the Interstate. I have 2015 2.7 EB towing a classic 5.0 single axle.
Also second Robert's suggestion to get the 135l fuel tank.

Wish I had more info but I'll be using an 2010 F150 with the 5.4L to two the 5.0TA we ordered and from looking into other forums towing with that engine won't be pretty  on the mileage side of things.
I did test drive a 2017 F150 XLT 6.5' bed eco boost 3.5L and was impressed by the power and features over my 2010 and for what it is worth, that would be my truck/engine of choice if I was getting something else. I personally don't want a diesel but they sure are in their zone hauling a trailer.
I have the big towing mirrors and 36 gal fuel tank and consider them a must have for my application. Good luck with your search.

My mother and her twin sister climbed up on a roost in the chicken coop when they were kids, and held a contest as to who could pee the furthest. Probably was a tie.

I have the 2.7 EB short bed and I got the extended range gas tank also extra pay load mileage about the same as the others

The tank and rear end gear ratio were a couple reasons I got Ford’s FX4 package. 3.73 rear end and 36 gallons of gas. Crazy.
