E2 hitch adjustment
I may be over thinking this but curious as to whether the E2 hitch should be adjusted using the front wheel measurement of the tow vehicle with the hitch head mounted to the receiver or without. With my Highlander there is a difference at the front wheel of approximately 1/2 inch. Hitch is currently adjusted to balance out the front wheel measurement with the hitch head in the receiver. If I were to use the front wheel measurement without the hitch head mounted to the receiver, I would need slightly more distribution correction. Any thoughts most welcome!
I’m thinking you would first measure the front wheel well without trailer, then you would add the trailer weight to the hitch, measuring again. The front will go up if the rear sags, of course. Heheh
Adjust your E2 so that you get within a half inch of first weight measurement. (What it was before adding trailer). It should look level by eye too.
Oops, slide the hitch head and ball into the receiver, then proceed. My guess. There should be someone more knowledgeable than me come along, and probably wipe out all and everything I just said.
