Escape Frame dimension

Hi,
Our big day is coming next week Wednesday or Thursday for the delivery of are new Escape 19 trailer. Now the second to last thing I need to do is order a new hitch for are trailer. After reading here on the Escape forum and on other forums about the Anderson No Sway hitch I have decided to order one. But first I need to make sure I have the right trailer frame dimensions for the Escape 19. I could not find the dimension anywhere on ETI Website so I did internet search and come up with the dimension of 2" wide by 4" tall is this correct?
Thanks
Mark

ETI sells the Andersen hitch and they could mount it for you before delivery.

I think it's to late to purchase it from ETI mostly the trailer is already loaded on the truck for shipping. Plus I can purchase the hitch for Amazon for $ 450 with free shipping.

I believe Escape bumped up the size of their frame members to be common between the 19 and 21. If you really want to mount the hitch yourself, I'd get the dimensions from Escape. They installed ours. I'm sure I could have done it also, but I'm really glad I let them go ahead and do it. Watching Tammy's dad drill into the frame for the set screws convinced me. I would have been measuring and re-measuring for an hour before drilling, and he knew already just where to drill. I had enough to sort out with a brand new trailer.

Installing the hitch would not be problem it's just making sure I order the right size hitch for my trailer frame. I guess I will be calling Kim on Monday for the frame dimension and most likely she will ever know the right model number for the Anderson hitch.

Spring is here and summer, and camping yer butt off is just around the corner. ETI is getting busy, so I'd imagine any changes may cost some coin.

I've towed my Casita in some pretty stiff crosswinds and she was fine. Never used a WDH or such hardware but am considering it. Safer that way, just have to pay for the hardware and installation.

Yes, the tongue of an Escape is built of the same size rectangular steel tube as the main frame rails. On the smaller models (17' and below, plus the original 5.0) this is 1.5" wide and 3" tall. On the 21' and new 5.0 TA, it is 2" wide and 4" tall. Early 19' were 1.5"x3"; later ones (including current production) are 2"x4".

I ordered an Andersen WDH myself, but ETI will install it for me. You can order a multi-size frame brackets which will fit 3,4,5 and 6 inch frame. When I ordered a 8 inch drop hitch, multi-size frame brackets were sent by the factory. I hope this info help.

Our 19 was delivered last Thursday. The frame size is indeed 2" x 4". We purchased the Anderson hitch thru ETI, and was very glad we did. I was not looking forward to installing the frame brackets. I did need to reset the ball housing in the adjustable shank to accommodate the ball height, but this was a simple task.

Varmint it sounds like your Escape 19 trailer and ours Escape 19 trailer spent some time together on the production line. Ours is being delivered either this Wednesday or Thursday I thinks it been about seven months for the time we first ordered ours. Thanks for the frame measurements and congratulations on the new trailer.

Cool. Another Mark with a 19' being built this summer. Mine is scheduled to be ready June 23 and the anticipation is building (pun intended). Final day for build sheet is tomorrow, tax day. Easy to remember.
