Re: Extended towing mirrors

Tow 'N See mirror is very light.
As for vibration, it's not been an issue for me. However, anything sticking out like that is likely to vibrate some at speed.

I should add that I am comfortable with the driver side extension, but am having more difficulty getting used to using the extension on the off-side. My eye just doesn't naturally go to that mirror.

It vibrates when you go over 80mph Jim! Baglo has said repeatedly that he drives a little more sanely these days (preparing for retirement slowdown I suppose).
I have that same problem Glenn. On my left side, the mirror works good, but when my eye goes to the right, it gets stuck on my beautiful wife sitting there beside me, and just won't go to that mirror either. Try it sometime when the "Ole Bag" isn't in the car, and see if it works better : - )

Re: Extended towing mirrors

I use the McKesh mirrors from Hensley. They are, as a friend once said, spendy, around $150 to $200, but, they provide great visibility, are rock solid with no vibration, and are easy to put on and take off.

Re: Extended towing mirrors

Is the 5.0 narrower than the other trailers?

edit: I forgot, Escape did make the 19 wider I believe.

Re: Extended towing mirrors

Yes the 19' is wider than the other Escapes. I have the CIPA mirrors that Brian has as well, and they did serve me very well on the way home from SSM Ontario. I actually am able to look a little behind Cafe Egg with them. They are easy to put on.

Re: Extended towing mirrors

Thanks for the all the replies. I think we'll try the Tow n See and see how they work, since it will not take a major investment to do so . . .
I like that they offer flat as well as convex mirrors. . .

By the way we have 9 months before we get our Escape. Feels like we're going through a pregnancy . . . And no we don't have a name yet . . .

Re: Extended towing mirrors

We just ordered towing mirrors that I haven't seen before on this forum--Aero 2 Towing Mirrors by Milenco.

http://www.amazon.com/JR-Products-AE...8245809&sr=8-1

We like the fact that they can clamp to the bottom of our car mirrors (see second link) because for us that means no risk of abraded paint on the mirror housing. We'll let you know how they work out.
