I had thought about inside, but worry that it might be too far away to be effective. Maybe I could mount a thin steel plate to the tool box.

Glue a little round magnet wherever you want the camera mounted.

Everything on the back of the RAV is plastic. I glued a metal disk to the spare tire cover on the RAV4 so I could centre the camera. ( Disk was left over from furnace install at home ). My SwiftHitch camera with magnetic base attaches to the disk.

I would like to get a Go Pro Camera system for my travel and hiking trips and also use it for a rear view system when needed. Right now they don't have a mirror image feature and there is a one or two second delay so a cheaper back up camera is probably a better deal. I'm hoping there will be a software update within the next year which will improve it for this purpose.

Several suggestions worth checking out

Thanks to everyone for the various suggestions. Once we actually have the truck, we try out a few of them.

Wireless Portable Hitching Camera

Rich,

Have you tried this on the back of trailer for backing into parking spot? Just thinking if one of these would work well enough on the back of trailer it could be used for hitching up when needed and used for backing into parking when needed and not getting the backup camera option from ETI. 2 birds with one stone concept.

I see there are quite a few different makes and models out there by doing a google search.
