Hi Raney, I answered on the other thread, but this may be a better spot.

Hi Raney

We have a 2015 19. Until June 2017 we pulled it with our 2013 explorer. It was adequate but I always “felt” the trailer back there.

We now have a 2017 F150. There is a noticeable difference. I now understand what other members mean when they say they can’t tell they are towing a trailer. We also have the larger gas tank which is wonderful!

I have a 2017 Explorer Sport with the Eco-Boost and tow package. I pick up my new 19’ in April. I will have 4 bikes on the roof rack as well and don’t anticipate any problems.

No argument here,Caren. We all weight the assets of our vehicles differently. Glad there are choices and we can all be happy

Anyone with a Toyota 4Runner pulling a 19?

I need to add that we don’t load our RV. Travel close to the weight of the trailer.

I agree, choices are great.
The explorer did a fine job for the 2 years we had it.

There are at least three:
Ian G
papasm2 (Tommy)
Leisure Lee

There are also some forum members towing a 21' with a 4Runner, and several towing 17's with 4Runners.

You might find the discussion below more informative than this one about the Ford Explorer:
Towing With Toyota 4Runner
