Re: Gas mileage when towing

Hi Folks : Well we picked up our 5.0 this past week and couldn't be happier !! We tow with a Frontier 6 cyl. 4x4 Auto and as others have mentioned this is a really good match for our trailer. We managed to get 17.2 MPG - kept our speed around 60MPH. It's very flat on the trip down I 5 , so we didn't have to contend with hills and how that may have inmpacted our mileage. Hope this helps. See you on the road.

Re: Gas mileage when towing

Hi : Thanks for the warm welcome. We had been looking to purchase our first trailer for some time now and we're thrilled to have found the perfect one for us. We're planning our first trip out in a couple of weeks - looking to finally enjoy one of our coastal spots in true comfort !! We'll post some of those pictures.

Re: Gas mileage when towing

Towing our new 17B home from picking it up, we averaged about 16 mpg (American gallons) or 19 mpg (Imperial gallons) with our 2008 4WD Tacoma V6.

Re: Gas mileage when towing

Well, with our 2000 Subaru Outback with 2.5L 4 and 50K miles on the clock, we got overall, city and country about 21mpg. Towing our 13'er, we get 19.8mpg. Of course, towing we slow down, 50 ish or maybe the posted truck speed. (In CA ALL vehicles towing trailers are limited to 55.)
