The bed on the 19' is 60" x 80" which is queen-sized. The bed on the 15' is 54" x 77."
It is true that the bed on the 15' is a little bigger than the one on the 17'.

Yes, the bed on the 17 is 49 wide and on the 15 it is 54 wide.

No longer true, apparently. I was talking the Tammy a few days ago, and she said the floor layout of the 17A has changed a little. It now goes straight across (used to be narrower on the driver's side), and is 54" wide. They stole some space from the cabinet to accommodate it.

That is good to know as many will be glad of that. Escape needs to correct the specs.

Ahh... sorry I was referring to the 17B and a 15B. If this has changed on a 17B it has to be REALLY recent since we ordered at the end of December and this was not the case for the 17B at the time, part of the reason we went with a 15B. At the end of December 2012 the 17B was 49 inches wide and the 15B was 54 inches wide. So is the new information only for 17A or for 17B as well?

One thing that you may want to think about is that the bed in the 19 has a permanent 7" Queen Size Custom Mattress. If you go for the stock 15, 17 or a modified U dinette in the back of the 19 you will be using the cushions as your mattress. To us this made a BIG difference for comfort and was a major factor in us choosing the 19. So it boils down to what your priorities are.

Sorry, I can't comment on the 17B. I was talking with Tammy specifically about the 17A.
With the 17A, we'd have a fixed mattress in the front. No reason it can't be as good as the mattress in the 19. When we started looking, the full queen mattress did convince us we wanted a 19. When we started running into problems finding a satisfactory tow vehicle we reevaluated and decided 54" width was good enough. I'd still prefer a full queen, but don't feel it's an absolute requirement.

Hi: All... I know what I have to add is totally irrelevant, but I consider the 5.0 to be a stretched 17 with a queen bed space in front and a U shaped dinette in the rear. I also realize that you need a pickup truck to tow it and not everyone wants one of those. After 5 seasons of use it still proves to be a worthy combo to travel in and we look forward to being able to stay in it for longer periods when retired later this year. Alf

hmmm... what are the requirements on the pickup for a 5.0? Could a Tacoma or Frontier pull one?

yes... with v6, they both have >6000lbs tow rating. The talk about the 5.0 just had me wondering what the possibilities were.

Doug, you should have no surprises if you buy a trailer and vehicle and go weigh them loaded at truck scales. What you first need now is the GVWR, then the max loaded weight allowed for the trailer and then the GCWR, all given by the manufacturers. You add the first two to make sure you will not exceed the third (GCWR).
Loaded weights for trailers obtained by owners are on FiberglassRV Forum.
The towing capacity given may or may not be reliable but you will soon find out if you do the above.
You can take your present vehicle loaded with passengers, fuel and camping gear to scales to determine approximately how much you will be loading into any vehicle. (Subtract that model's curb weight from the total.)
The tongue weight is a percentage so you do not have that until you have the above. Our tongue weight is not someone else's and you should not assume that yours is ours or anyone else's. I would not go by others vehicles without doing all of the numbers for myself since loads can vary considerably.

Hi: dbailey...We pull with a Nissan Frontier V6 4X4 Crew Cab 4Dr. Long bed. No extra suspension or sway control required. Hooking up is a breeze and the hitch is covered with the tonneau when were out sightseeing. Alf

Thanks, Alf. The wife has declared she doesn't like the 5.0 relative to the 19. It felt more closed in. Having large windows at both ends of the 19 does make it feel like a bigger space. I'm less certain, but I see her point.

Close, but not quite. Neither the tug nor the trailer needs to be loaded to its Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), so you only need to add the tug's curb weight (not GVWR) to the trailer's equipped but empty weight, and compare that total to the tug's GCWR: whatever is left over is your allowance for driver, passengers, cargo (in tug and trailer) and water etc. in the trailer tanks.
If you use the gross weight ratings (GVWR), you will be considering the worst possible case; you may choose to do this, but it is not necessary.
The tug's curb weight and the trailer's empty weight can be from manufacturer's specs or, preferably, by actually weighing.
In addition to GCWR, the limits imposed by the tug's GVWR, Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWR, front and especially rear), and hitch weight limit all need to be considered; however, I agree that GCWR is a good place to start.

Hi dbailey,
Just food for thought. I towed my 19' with a 2008 town & country van v6 3.8litre. We went from Ont to the Carolinas through the mountains and back home with no problems.

The Town & Country seems to be rated for towing 3500 lbs. I'd prefer a little more margin when pulling a 19.
