Hitch Lock that comes with new Escape

Does anyone know if the "hitch lock" that comes with my new Escape 21 is a coupler lock or a hitch lock? It comes with the "goodies package." Also, which one is it? Thanks, we pick up ours next week and I don't want to buy an extra lock.

I believe the hitch lock is the pin thru the locking handle on the hitch top, not a coupler lock that goes inside the coupler.

As the package says, it locks the latch of the coupler. "Hitch" usually refers to the vehicle side of the hitching system, so a hitch lock might be a locking pin to hold the ball mount in the receiver... it's not that.

I bought a locking pin for the coupler and the stinger from E Trailer several years ago. They are stainless steel and have not rusted. There are several sizes so before ordering, the pin/hole diameter and with must be measured. They will hold things together as intended while towing but wouldn’t take much to defeat while parked. They are cylinder key locks not combination. And they are not keyed alike but I think you can get them keyed alike.

I lost a ring of keys in April 1978, it was the last time I lost keys. Lost them in Cleveland, didnít miss them till I drove 400 miles. My wifeís dad defeated the padlock on the moving truck with little blue wrench (aircraft head)
I have four sets for the camper. And have not had a problem. now where did I put my hat?

How does it go, "Locks keep honest people, honest" and are intended just to slow down dishonest people.

So, what brand would you consider buying in its place?
