Same with my rack (which is used directly on the van or motorhome, not the trailer, but the logic is same). Instead of a pin going right through, a bolt is inserted in one hole of the receiver box and threads into the square shaft of the rack, pulling it tight against one side of the opening. This would not be suitable for the load of towing, but works well for the rack.

The triangular plate of the Andersen No-Sway WD system is tied to the trailer by the chains, and turns with the trailer (turning the ball and cone with it) - it's not aligned with the hitch head at all. A slight (or even major) alignment change of the hitch head (due to shimming it to one side) makes no difference at all to this plate or the operation of the hitch.
