Hitches for the towing the 5.0 TA

We have the B&W 16K Patriot model 3200. Our tow is a 2003 Dodge, so the turnover ball was not a option. We do use the rails. Like others have said, the hitch does break down into two manageable pieces.

Frank I have the Patriot as well. Just went out to look for the model it's an RVB3200. I am happy with it, having researched a number before buying last year I feel more secure having a locking jaw type rather than a slider. After having worked with Intermodal for the CPR and actually seeing rail cars tipped on their sides with trailer still attached to the hitches the better the attachment the better I feel. Coming apart in two pieces the top is easy to lift out, the bottom not as much, can do myself but need help putting back in. I just have the F150 bed mat and it works fine sitting over the rails after taking out the hitch. Of course I can't use the mat with hitch in. I am hoping to get a spray in liner next year.

That is the model that caught my eye. Cool.

So your advice would be to get the bedliner sprayed in before I mount a 5th wheel hitch? I've thought about doing it anyways, and just should.

No Frank I think it's better to get the universal rails which you have to order separately and get them put in, then get the spray of course they would have to mask off the rails or something, I really haven't looked into it yet. any other ideas out there?

I would get the spray liner before I put the bed rails in, myself. Any good spray liner company will remove things like hooks and other things so that they can spray behind them.

That said, and without trying to sound like a hypocrite, I plan to mount my under the box hitch, and drill the holes for the chain hooks before spraying so the protectant covers the sides of the holes.

Hmm, I don't understand what you're saying here Jim. Maybe I should see if I can find some pdf instructions for installation of these units!
