Thanks, Doug - gives me an idea of where the price should be. Which controller was it? If that's the P3, that's a great price.

I've done some reading on a bunch of rv websites, and it sounds like people that have the Primus like it fine, but those who have upgraded to the P3 like it even more.

Just an update...
Finally got my hitch and brake controller installed in Wainwright. Cost was about $100 more than the quote - apparently, they had a heck of a time with the wiring and the job took 5.5 hours! Freaked me out pretty good when they told me (after they were finished) that they couldn't get my vehicle to go into gear! Apparently, it was a blown fuse - hopefully the wiring is ok. Haven't used it yet, but a huge thanks to everyone for their help!

Dealing with repair shops can be kind of a crapshoot anywhere you go. I took my Highlaner into a shop I had used before and liked their work. They fixed my problem but dropped an overhead door on my roof. Which necessitated three trips to my favorite body shop. They paid for the repair but it was still a hassle. Hang in there, you'll get on the road and do fine.
