Nice ...I've got the same truck, minus the sun roof, saved on Ford's build & price website .
Then I started thinking I wouldn't stay off the boost and started leaning toward an 8 and Chevy.

Nice set up, do you know if the hill assist can be deactivated? I had some issues trying to back into a hilly campsite with this feature on my Nissan.

You can turn it off on the Chevy. Don't know on the Ford. What was the issue on the Nissan? Never noticed a problem on the Chevy. Backed into several hilly spots on the way back from Chilliwack.

Yes, you can turn it off if you like.

With the Nissan I could not turn it off and when it activated it also activated my trailer brakes, I had to un-connected in the scenario. The Nissan was a stick.

Someone threw a monkey wrench into my best laid plans.

Apparently our truck hasn't yet left the KC plant. They recently retooled that plant specifically for the 2015 because it requires a different manufacturing process. The truck has been finished since early February. So why hasn't it shipped? They have some internal requirement that there are at least 5 consecutive days where their QC checks show a score at or near 100%. Until that happens, they don't ship. This is an overall plant score, not an individual truck score.

The dealer ordered a truck for himself when he ordered mine (long before I went to the dealer). He offered to sell me his instead. Although both trucks had the same build date, his came from the Dearborn plant and is already on its way to the dealer, arriving on the 7th. Mine will take 10 days to reach the dealer once it leaves the factory. They ship by train.

It sounds like a viable alternative, but there are two things I'm trying to talk myself into: first, his is a 4x4. I really didn't want or need a 4x4, and the mileage takes a hit of 3mpg. Second, the color on his is "bronze fire". Don't know why, but that color doesn't strike my fancy.

So, I'm gonna sit here and keep trying to talk myself into it some more. The good news is that although his truck was higher priced, he's going to take more off so the price is closer to the one I had originally picked, mainly because he feels bad about promising it on the 7th. Of course, he had no control over the factory holds, but it was a nice gesture. Maybe with the discount its a better deal since its "more truck".

Bummed.

All good things come to those who wait....or have patience, in this case. Cool it. Stick with your original decision/choice. Your baby will be here soon enough.

I like the colour myself. What was the colour you originally chose?

As for 4x4, I can see not getting it if you don't need it. Up here it is something that gets used a lot, but down there, you would not have snow to deal with.

Is he offering it to you at no upcharge?

Maybe the dealer will lend you a loaner to go pick up your trailer.

Wow - that's a ton of money (to me) to not get exactly what you want...
Doesn't you dealer have a demo (like his truck) that would work to pick up your new Escape while you wait for the one you want?
