They were projected to be here between March 18th and March 21st.

The dealer called me just a while ago to let me know that one of them arrived. I pick it up tomorrow, just in time for our Sunday departure. THRILLED. No rental truck.
Yeah!!!
Have a safe trip in your new pick up

Thank you all SO MUCH for the well wishes. I just got the truck home from the dealer -- about a 95 mile drive. I can't even begin to describe what an awesome ride. Smooth, quiet and if you aren't careful you look down and you're doing 75. Wow!

Traffic coming home on I-35 and 1604 was absolutely horrific with nothing but stop-and-go almost the entire way. I didn't even care! With the auto-stop/auto-start feature engaged, I'll bet the engine shut off over 500 times on the way home. I averaged 24 mpg or so on the stretches where I could do 65, and a little less in the stop and go traffic.

I'm going to need a month just to figure out what everything does. So many bells and whistles. Anyway, thanks again ya'll. Off to Canada on Sunday. Cheers.

wow, I did not know that the engine turned off/on like some of the hybrids do. I wonder how they can accomplish that with a turbo that sometimes needs cooling down?

There is a fan that runs when the auto-shutoff is engaged and the turbo is hot. You can barely hear it running if you roll the windows down and turn off the radio.

So, I take you can turn disengage "auto-shutoff" if needed, as in towing?

I don't know why it would be necessary to turn off this feature (which Ford calls "Auto-Start-Stop") when towing, but them seem to agree it's a good idea. The owners manual lists 19 conditions which must be met for the automatic engine stop to occur, and two of them are
"The trailer is not connected." and
"You have not selected Tow haul."
So if either the trailer is plugged into the truck (perhaps only with the factory integrated brake controller) or the Tow haul mode is selected, the Auto-Start-Stop is disabled. There is also a button on the console that disables it for one engine operation cycle.

Is your F-150 truck a 4x4? Great mileage for a crew cab beast like that; great truck!!!

Wow! What fun!!! New truck from Texas to Chilliwack and new trailer to eventually back. Congratulations to both of you. Can hardly wait for your stories and reports. You must be feeling pretty good ..... the wait was worth it.
