Traffic coming home on I-35 and 1604 was absolutely horrific with nothing but stop-and-go almost the entire way. I didn't even care! With the auto-stop/auto-start feature engaged, I'll bet the engine shut off over 500 times on the way home. I averaged 24 mpg or so on the stretches where I could do 65, and a little less in the stop and go traffic.

I'm going to need a month just to figure out what everything does. So many bells and whistles. Anyway, thanks again ya'll. Off to Canada on Sunday. Cheers.
So glad you love the F-150, Robert! It is a sweet ride. Happy and safe travels to pick up your other new baby

Robert, did you manage to get a paper plate for your new trailer, or for that matter did you even have time to get the regular plates for your new truck? Loren

Hello from Colorado. We finished our 2nd day in the new truck and the mileage is still going up. Averaging 25 right now. On to Utah tomorrow, Oregon the next day and finally to Chilliwack on Thursday night.

And yes Loren, we got a 30 day temporary tag for the trailer online. The good thing about them is that Texas lets you determine the start date. Ours starts the day we pick up the trailer. The bad thing was that we couldn't get plates without the trailer because Texas requires a VIN inspection for any imported vehicle .....but that's another story.

Cheers,

Robert

Robert: "Tammy, I noticed Doug's paperwork here. By the way, Doug's a great guy, ya know?"

Tammy: "Huh?"

Robert,
For those of us who like to hear about mpg, would you tell us if your results are ''hand calculated' versus the computer approximation, and secondly what speeds you're running.
Thanks.

Robert, is there any way to apply for more than 30 days for a temp plate? We plan to be on the road for 45-60 days after we pick it up.

Robert, when you get into Oregon your fuel mileage may drop. We're still running 10% ethenol at our gas stations until April 1. I know it really effects my fuel mileage (Nov 1-Mar 31). Fuel stations can't change (when buying fuel for the tanks) until April 1. Sometimes it takes until June(!) to notice a difference.. depending on how often the gas station buys fuel. Sigh.
