Atwood is the one with an aluminum-lined tank that doesn't use an anode rod. I have replaced the plastic plug with a valve on at least one of my two Atwoods, although it can be tough to find a valve that fits in the available space.

One other thing to consider is the max tow weight in Austraila for the exact same JKU that we have in the US is 4,400 lbs. I don't think the laws of physics are different down under

And the same jeep with a diesel engine can tow 5060 lbs. This is from the AU jeep site: http://www.jeep.com.au/brochures/mod...-unlimited.pdf

I am looking at ordering a 19' also and will be using a modded JKU to tow it with but I do plan on trying to make sure that when I am towing the trailer is under 3500 lbs so I don't stress the jeep too much.

The laws of physics are the same, but the expectations of drivers are different. While high European towing ratings are usually cited, the same problem exists with rating from Australia - they are simply not comparable to ratings issued for North America, even when the vehicle is identical. You can tow two tons (2,000 kg, 4,400 lb) with a Wrangler, but not reliably at the speeds and under the other conditions expected in this market.

Australia can be an interesting source of hitches, because in some cases they use the superior structural design of European hitches, but with the square receiver used in North America. For the Wrangler, if the standard crossmember-mounted receiver provided by Jeep is inadequate for higher loads, there is the towbar offered by Towbars Australia. It has a relatively conventional bolt-on attachment, but it is complete with North American-style 2-inch-square (50mm x 50m) receiver. Of course, it's a terrible place to ship from, due to the cost.

I can't remember the fellas at Durango but he had a rubicon with a Hemi pulling a little
Snoozy. I believe he said he was gonna be at the Falls. He had a decal that named her
Hemicon. Sweet rig and very nice camper.

Our rubicon did not come with a towing package. We had a class 3 installed, and with no problem whatsoever pulled the 19 home. The brake control mostly at 1.5. We had to gear down on the steeper hills and descends, but even the steeper 13 degree was no problem. Also no overheating. With ETI's E2 by Fastway Integrated Sway Control and Weight Distribution Hitch we are very happy with the outcome. (We took highway 99. Well known by bikers for its curves and steeps. Especially the part from Pemberton to Lillooet.) I do have to mention that we are light packers, and that the classic 19 is less weight then the new version will be.

Do some major swaps, and all the stock ratings are out the window. Apparently the 8-speed transmission which ideally goes with that Hemi is too long to fit in a Wrangler - too bad.
