Wow - funny. I had a few Beetles and they had enough trouble on their own getting up in the mountains - imagine pulling this up one!

I concur. I've had two Beetles and a Squareback. I towed three successively larger sailboats with the Squareback, and the last was the '17 fiberglass boat that showed me I shouldn't be doing that with that vehicle! I don't think I'd trust that roof connection, either.

I had a Beetle too, not sure towing like in the video would have been a good idea. That being said, 360 degrees of maneuverability would be pretty nice, you would never have to back a trailer up again

Should we suggest to Reace that while he is making the moulds for the new 5.0 he should do one with a really high front and provide a hitch for the roof of a small SUV... or a New Beetle?

Or, when you do back up the trailer (into a campsite or storage location), you can do it with the tug going forward, which is easier.

As long as the hitch is built to SAE J684 / VESC V-5 standards, I don't see why not. On the other hand, legal and suitable (or safe, or prudent, or reliable) are not the same thing...

I'm still in the rebuild stage of an old truck... actually it's a panel. I think this would be a perfect solution so I can tow my new 5er with old iron!
