Yeah it is dealer installable, at least for most of the major makes like Ford, Dodge and Chevy. There's just a 'blank' in the dash where it goes, and there's even a wiring harness tucked in to the hollow behind the blank to connect to. I'd do it myself but I can't program it.

Do you have the tow mirrors? That's the one option I would have included if I spec'd the truck. The tips of standard mirrors are set about 5" further apart than the 21 is wide.

I have these add on mirrors. Definitely need with a 21'.

Etrailer has others now as well. At the time were only ones available for standard mirrors. They work well.

My only issue with the "aftermarket" controller my dealer sub-contracted is it's location, about an inch from my right shin. Think I'll now go see him about maybe installing the factory job, and see if it isn't too expensive.

Oh boy, that's nice!!!! I wish now that we would have waited for this new body style to come out. Really like the new double cabs (without the suicide doors) and the standard length bed. Love the power of the 6.2 ltr engine in our Max Tow (doing my best Tim Allen impersonation!), but the 5.3 is more than adequate for pulling Escape's. Congrats on a great looking pickup.

If the Chevy is priced anything like the Ford Myron, it'll be around $300 including install and programming.

It is great to get brake controllers and towing mirrors factory installed, but to find it all on a truck on a dealers lot is next to impossible. Just looked at my window sticker and the brake controller was included in the max tow package which cost $1325. The power camper mirrors were $275 and only available with the max tow package. Loren

As I recall, that controller set-up is actually supposed to automatically stop any swaying. That is one great feature if it actually does that.

Anti-sway is standard on mine. The Brake Controller is extra. Not sure if the brake controller helps sway.

I mean trailer brakes being applied automatically when sway is detected. At least, that is what I thought was the deal.

Yes, supercharging (turbocharging in this case) is the most straightforward replacement for displacement.
Ford's online specs for the F-150 are almost the same, and here they are with the speeds as well:
2.7L EcoBoost® V6: 325 hp @ 5750 rpm, 375 lb-ft @ 3000 rpm
3.5L EcoBoost® V6: 365 hp @ 5000 rpm, 420 lb-ft @ 2500 rpm
5.3L Chevy V8: 67 hp/L, 72 lb-ft/L
2.7L Ford EcoBoost: 120hp/L, 139 lb-ft/L
3.5L Ford EcoBoost: 104hp/L, 120 lb-ft/L
Torque is the product of displacement, multiplied by the degree to which air is packed in by supercharging. Power is torque multiplied by speed. It's fundamentally a matter of getting air through the engine and burning fuel with all of it, although of course the details are not so simple!
The 3.5L EcoBoost produces less torque for each unit of displacement than the 2.7L, suggesting that it runs less peak boost (perhaps limited by induction, exhaust, or flow through the head). The 3.5L also produces less power per litre, simply because it produces its peak power at a lower speed.
By coincidence, the EcoBoost 3.5L has the same peak power output as my motorhome's Ford 6.8L V10... which is not turbocharged.
All modern diesel engines (other than the most basic small engines not used in vehicles) are turbocharged. Although commercial truck and equipment engines are large - displacement is important - turbocharging is to some extent certainly a replacement for displacement.
