Mileage / Oregon

FYI

2008 RAV4 V6 and Escape 17B.

Most of our driving was with the trailer in tow, but some was not. And, a lot was I 5, but that meant keeping up with the traffic ( 100 KPH ) or better, which dramatically reduces gas mileage. I would hold to 90 KPH if I could.

Overall, I used 13.32 L / 100 Km or got 21.22 miles per imperial gallon ( 17.77 MPG U.S. ).

I would guess that less than 1/3 was sans trailer.

Re: Mileage / Oregon

Huh. I got 15.3 L/100 km on my trip to Oregon last weekend, and I get 9.3 without the trailer. Taking a weighted average - 67%*15.3+33%*9.3 = 13.32. Exactly the same as you. Not close, but exact. That doesn't often happen.

For those not in the know, I drive a 2009 RAV4. The only significant difference between my trailer and Baglo's is that his is jacked a few inches higher.

So, that was you that flashed your lights on the bridge, me heading south and you north? I thought I recognized the combo. Don't ask for specifics, all I know was we had left I 5 and were headed for Astoria.

Hah! That was me all right! I had been at the North Oregon Gathering, about an hour south-southwest of there. I only saw the trailer. Forgot (as usual) to look at the TV.
