New Tug

We have a new tug for our 2016 Escape 19'

Max trailer weight is 8600#
Max payload is 1320#

We drive 30,000 km per year with about 10,000 of that towing.
Planned trips this year are Utah and Vancouver Island, with Baja Mexico planned for next year.

Vehicle Description
2016 RAM 1500 LARAMIE 4X4
3.92 Rear Axle Ratio
Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle
3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel Engine
Four Wheel Drive (4WD)/(4X4)
Elec Shift On Demand Transfer Case
Front Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers
Rear Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers
Power Multi-Function F/Away Mirrors
Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat
5 7" Cargo Box
Ventilated Front Seats
Heated Front Seats
Power Multi-Function F/Away Mirrors

Very interested in the towing mileage and how it feels through the mountains.
As with the Jeep V6 GC we also tow with, we will start out with no WDH or sway control and see how it feels.

We have a similar 2014 Ram 1500 Bighorn Quad Cab except with the Hemi engine and a different color . The Laramie & Bighorn have a rather low payload because of all the standard options and yours with a diesel engine is even lower . My payload capacity is 1360 lbs and yours may be down around 1050 lbs or even less. Your diesel will definitely tow your trailer but like us you may run up against your payload limit
We added air bags to the rear suspension which helped level out the vehicle but we have to carefully watch how much cargo we put in the truck .
They are really nice trucks but the payload capacity leaves something to be desired.
We have made 2 trips out West with our truck and it was able to get us up , over and down the mountains .
We found the Ram to be an adequate tow vehicle.
