Just got the weld estimate to remove the existing coupler and weld the new Bulldog coupler on. 1.5 hrs @ $90 hr + coupler.
Coupler on eTrailer https://www.etrailer.com/A-Frame-Tra.../BD028287.html

Looking at Approx $200 (coupler + welding) to make the switch, which is about the same as I paid many years ago on the Scamp to do the same job.

Does the price you quoted cover priming and repainting the coupler area ?
I got a quote that was slightly higher but it included painting

I just paid 297.00 for bulldog coupler, welding and painting so your price is better than mine. I’m in Massachusetts so everything is more expensive here.

Is top tier gasoline $3.79.9 a gallon in Massachusetts?

Hey Steve,
No I don't believe it did, but I keep the black Rustoleum on the shelf and a 10 minute job to get them painted.

Hey Pat,
I'm assuming you mean the coupler change?
If you are having issues getting the stock coupler to unhitch and you're finding you have to use a screwdriver or tool all the time to unhitch then it would be a good idea. One less piece of frustration to deal with and make trailering more enjoyable.
I also had gotten to where I'm not confident in the security of the attachment to the hitch with my coupler, there's a lot of slop in it and no apparent adjustment. Having had experience in the past with the positive attachment of the Bulldog I want to err on the side of caution before we go FT.

Sometimes Greg . Once starting out , needed to stop and , probably our fault , don’t know , the ball wasn’t sitting in the coupler , even though we were latched . Pulled over and redid .
Yes in the beginning had lots of problems to unlatch . Now that it is older , it hasn’t been a problem
Have seen the bulldog coupler on Oliver and vintage trailers .
Looks sturdy . Maybe another improvement coming . Thanks Greg ! Pat
