Our new to us 2006 Tundra

We have been watching and waiting to find a 1st Generation Tundra for nearly 2 years that was reasonably priced with low milage and some what close to home. This Tundra was a local trade in with only 38,000 miles, it is in excellent condition and was always garaged. It was exactly what we wanted with the extra cab,V8 and tow package (our garage won't fit a double cab). We put a new shell on it and I plan on adding some thing for grill/front deer protection and that's about it. The Toyota Tundra as is is capable of mild off road use and with our Escape equipped with the high axle option we will be able to explore beyond the end of the pavement. Dave

OH!!! BTW you can still read the license plate with the trailer plugged in

Good looking combination! No winch, though, huh?

No winch yet but it is in the works along with the front protection project. A little more detail on the front end plan, wife wants to keep the original bumper and I agree it does look nice so I will fabricate a support structure for an 1.5" round tube frame that will follow the shape of the grill and also have a receiver hitch tube (for winch mount) in it. This frame will be configured so that the plastic cladding of the original bumper will go over it and the only alteration to the bumper will be the bolt holes where the grill guard bolts to the frame. Hopefully this will be done by the time we leave in April for a trip to southern Utah.

Nice acquisition, outofrshell! That's a good-looking tug and trailer combination. We also just bought a used Tundra to pull our Escape, and look forward to getting into the mountains of southern Utah this spring with enough power and torque to handle steep grades at elevation.

Brent,

I have a bunch of stuff to go to the dump. Are you passing by on your way to Utah?
