Yes, and "UVW" is what Escape labels as "Total dry weight". There's no problem with the logic or the math - the published data is simply wrong.

17b vs 19
I can’t offer experience with either trailer, as mine is on order. But I can tell you why I chose the 17b over the 19.
1. The tow car will be my only vehicle, and I am only willing to have a mid sized suv. Additionally, the most reliable vehicles I’ve owned have been Hondas. Therefore, I now own a 2017 all wheel drive Pilot, with 5000lb towing ability.
2. The only occupants of the trailer will be me and 3 terriers that average about 15 lbs each.
I am also at a point where I want a permanent bed, and I elected to have the large dinette converted to a permanent double bed. This leaves only the small dinette for seating, but I don’t intend to entertain indoors, so it is sufficient for me.
My 2 friends and I visited the Escape factory last fall and saw both trailers “in person”. I really liked the 19’ with its additional room, but, in the end, the 17b is more suited to my needs.
I do not have past experience with trailers, so it will be new to me, but I am coming from several years with a 30’ class C.

So why is the total weight listed as 2,950 pounds, and not 2,610 pounds? 2,610 pounds is the old total weight; apparently Escape changed the design in 2016, then updated the website in May 2017, and did not update the axle weight or tongue weight. That means that the axle weight is incorrect (it is the old value), and the tongue (hitch) weight is suspect as well (again, it is the old value). This has been wrong for a while and has been mentioned in this forum before, so I would not expect the error to be corrected.

In the Brochure (downloadable PDF), the axle weight is listed as 2694, which equals 2950 - 256, so the math works for these numbers. The hitch weight is still the old value, so it might be out of date, though.

Doris, your information says "still planning". Have you ordered your 17B? (we're practically neighbors!)

I’m no longer planning, my completion date is in May.
