Rapid Jack DIY
At a recent rally I saw the Andersen Rapid Jack. They looked pretty simple so I figured I might be able to make a DIY set of ramps.
I jointed some 2x6 material to get the sides flat and then glued three pieces together.
I made a template from cardboard by using a string and pencil to trace some curves. The inner radius is 13.5", which matches the 27" diameter tires on an Escape. The outer radius is slightly larger and I played around with the center point to get the right look.
I cut them out with a bandsaw and sanded out the bumps and rough spots. I used a section of the scrap to make the chocks.
I haven't tried them yet.
