Remove WDH from Escape

Can the standard WDH (Reese maybe?) parts that are on the Escape be easily removed if a buyer does not want the WDH?

We can't tell if there is just the one big bolt for each side or maybe those pieces are welded on.

Where was the WDH installed ? This would be a good source for information without pictures.

Contact ETI. I doubt that they welded the adapter on the trailer tongue. Most probably bolted on. I have not seen the WDH installed by ETI perhaps someone has a picture.

Reace and Tammy are on the road. I figure someone here knows about this with all of the sales there have been.

Reace installed and I watched and he didn't use a welder; just a wrench.

Thank you, Glenn. So now I guess it is whether we can come up with that tool.

For confirmation. This is the part you are talking about? Where the chain hooks?

There is no "standard" WDH on Escapes. Both the Reese Pro Series and the Andersen are optional. Both are installed on the day of pickup because the installation differs slightly depending on the tow vehicle and they want the tow there when installing so it can be adjusted properly. Both the Andersen and the Reese just bolt on.
