Right place?

Wife and I are downsizing. We just replaced three vehicles with one new one. Is this the right sight to advertise tow vehicles or is that allowed?

I'd suggest advertising vehicles in more local places, such as craigslist, or maybe in forums specific to the model vehicle (for instance, Tacomaworld.com for Tacomas, etcetc).

This specific forum 'towing and hitching' is for discussions about towing your escape. the only 'for sale' sections here on escapeforum are for selling escape trailers.

If I wanted to sell a vehicle, I wouldn't advertise that it was used for towing. I believe, if you traded it in, the dealer would probably remove the hitch receiver and any other evidence that it was used for towing.

not if it was a factory hitch option.

I get that - some buyers might be concerned that the vehicle had been worked too hard. On the other hand, being set up for towing would be a selling feature for some buyers.

I see nothing that would prohibit a 4 sale listing under the
RV Parts and Camping Gear section as well as other places elsewhere....maybe a good idea!

Makes no difference to many of us who are already set up to tow and are not looking for a tow rig, however it is fairly common to read posts where someone is getting into camping with a limited budget and needs a used trailer and a used tow. Allowing the posting of tow vehicles is just another decent thing to do. It’s specific enough that I doubt this site will ever reach craigslist status. I’ve seen combination rigs posted in the past, why stop now?

if the vehicle in question is a 250/2500 or 350/3500 class truck, I'd expect it HAD been used for towing.

Nothing wrong purchasing a used tow vehicle. We bought our used F250. Yup it was used for towing , a boat . We purchased truck used in 2003 to haul our 9 /1/2 camper . Now it is towing our 19 ft trailer for the last almost 5 years . The truck is a 1992 and still doing it's job . Maintenance items like battery , tires , brakes ,and did have a trans seal leak , decided to rebuild the whole transmission . Still doing it's job . Pat
