stupid question about weight distribution hitches

I think I know the answer to this question, but best not to assume...

I presume a weight distribution hitch fits into a normal 2" receiver. Correct?

If/when I find a new vehicle, and if I decide to go WDH, I just want to be sure I know what I need...

I have a WDH and I have a 2" receiver. What TVs are you looking at?

Currently leaning towards either Tacoma or Frontier. But we haven't decided for certain on the actual trailer yet, so if we go 17 that means the Toyota Venza or Ford Escape are also possibilities. Not sure if I'd need a WDH in the former case, but probably would in the latter.
