Hi: thoer... Thanks!!! Contrary to popular opinion!!!
When Reace first designed the 5.0 he towed with a Mazda B3000," Wimpy suspension and all". When the family came along he towed with a Nissan 4X4 Frontier Crew Cab. When the family out grew the Fronty, and the 5.0...he towed with the F 150 4X4 Crew Cab.

Well, at least most of us do.

I don't have my 5.0 TA yet, but I towed my '87 Bigfoot 5er with my 2013 F150 4x2 Supercab 3.5L Ecoboost. The Bigfoot weighs about the same as the 5.0 TA, maybe a bit more. It towed easily up and down mountains and even on step grades at high altitude.
I was resistant to looking at full size trucks, but my son convinced me to try them. A single test drive convinced me. I love the spacious cab and it may be the most comfortable ride I've had in years. I was fortunate to get a great price on a two-year old truck with only 5,000 miles. It had the tow package with a transmission cooler. I bought and installed tow mirrors and an OEM brake controller. The controller had to be "programmed" by a dealership to work. I use Anderson Ultimate Fifth Wheel hitch; it's a great combination.
I towed my Bigfoot 30,000 miles before I sold it.
Ford has a new F150 fan.

Towed my 5.0SA with a Frontier and never had a problem. Towing the TA was fine until I took it over Teton Pass. The transmission did not like that at all. Turns out the oil cooler does not work well at 20 mph. Made it OK, but I traded up to the 150 when we got home.

But what a price discount... MSRP @52k sale $$$ 38K CDN $'s and the longer it stays there probably less!!! Kinda like a "Dutch auction". Alf

If you like that F150 maybe you should check with ETI on the fit for your trailer. May not be that big a deal. I gave Tammy the bed rail and bed floor heights and thought I would surely need the raised axle. She said no,go with the standard axle. I almost went with the raised anyway because I didn't think the trailer would ride level, glad I listened to her. It is towing practically dead level and with plenty of clearance behind my 2016 4x4 F 150, that's with the standard axle. I'm using the Anderson ultimate with ball set at its lowest position. It tows great and I'm thrilled with the 15-16 mpg we have been getting.

As long as you're under the payload capacity, towing capacity, etc, have properly installed the hitch, and are willing to have a possible hassle in the event of a warranty claim, I see no reason why you can't tow it with a Frontier.
Hope so. We've ordered the 2018 Colorado Z71 Duramax, crew cab, 4wd, long bed, to tow the 5.0 TA now in the build queue. Chevy does not say it is NOT 5th wheel capable, and all ratings are plenty high enough. But they DO explicitly say that other pick ups, such as 2500's ARE 5th wheel capable. We're gonna go for it, and fight whatever warranty battles that await.....

Curios as we are in the same situation. What did you end up buying as a tow vehicle? Did you ad the lift kit?

We ended up getting a 2019 GMC Sierra 4x4…no lift kit needed. It has the payload we wanted, lots of power and good braking, also has plenty of clearance. We are very happy with the towing.
