Most regular mirrors will let you see the whole trailer. The extra distance that tow mirrors stick out means that you can see into the lane behind you. With my tow mirrors I can see anyone behind me in at least one of the mirrors - I've checked numerous times, and even when someone is close behind me I can see them in at least one of my tow mirrors.

One of the reasons I had to order my F 150 rather than buying it off the lot was I wanted their towing mirrors & the 36 gallon gas tank. The towing mirrors extend (although not necessary with the 21), but the real reason is a large mirror surface & each side had a convex section on the bottom.
If I had purchased a higher trim, I could have included towing mirrors thet extend & fold electrically, but I'll just have to live with getting out to fold them...

The power extend is just a toy to me, since it's rarely used - but the power fold comes in really handy, especially in those tight parking spaces at stores, and pulling in and out of my garage.

my 2002 F250 stock mirrors can be pulled out another 4" or so from their normal position, thats more than sufficient to get a clear view behind the E21.

I also use CIPA mirrors for my GMC Sierra. I'm happy with them.

I used these (or something very much like it) with my Tacoma when towing the Escape 21, they came with the Escape, and worked great for the Dallas to Santa Cruz via Reno run. they stayed on the Tacoma mirrors much better than the ones I'd bought myself, didn't jiggle, and gave a great view.

I have said it before on this site, but will repeat for the topic of this thread. I have the trailer tow mirrors on my F-150 and had them on all my Super Duties too. They offer a fantastic view to the rear. I just love their large size and large convex mirror on the underside. I use the extension somewhat when on bigger roads, but can see to the rear very good without the extension. When parallel parking along a sidewalk, or in any place I walk around the mirror I fold them in so not only do they not receive any damage it gives pedestrians lots of room to move past. I also like that they are electric for extension, folding and view adjustment.
To me, it seems weird that many prefer the car type mirrors on there truck when these work better and look more like truck mirrors, but to each their own. I make choices the majority does not agree with sometimes too.

As in several topics here What’s works for one does not necessarily work for another. It all comes down to personal preference and what one is comfortable with

Nope no vibration. I did put some thin felt pad strips on the inside to try and minimize scratches on the mirror and so far that has worked. I was going to get the GM Factory OEM mirrors but I went with the cheaper route and I'm happy I did.

We have a Silverado and 21 and use the CIPA mirrors, ordered them off of Amazon and are happy with them. We just put them on when towing, takes less than 2 minutes. The walk around test with the tow mirrors vs. standard mirrors is considerable. We've also driven some rough roads and they haven't budged.
