I installed these on our F-150 yesterday in about 2 min. I won't know until this weekend how well they work with the trailer attached but so far I'm very pleased with the easy on and look of them.

Had aftermarket towing mirrors on my previous truck, got the factory towing mirrors on the new truck. Either way, towing mirrors greatly enhance your visibility and IMO are a must.

This is from BC Motor Vehicle Act. Other provinces and states have similar requirements:
Where a trailer or semitrailer in a combination of vehicles diminishes the driver's reflected rear view through the rear view mirrors required by subsections (1) to (3), the towing vehicle in the combination of vehicles shall be equipped with 2 mirrors, one affixed to each side of the motor vehicle, and each to provide the driver with an undistorted reflected view of the adjacent lane of the highway from a point on the road surface 11 m ( 36 feet ) behind the driver to a point on the road surface 61 m ( 200 feet ) from the rear of the combination of vehicles.
Note that it says adjacent lanes, not the lane you are in ( directly behind the trailer ).

Mirrors
I tow a 2017 5.0 with an F-150(2016). The mirrors on my truck are what comes standard. I ordered extension mirrors from e-trailer and they snap on nicely. But.. I have not trained my brain to use them and have since removed them. I now realize I can see just fine with the standard mirrors including the blind spot on both sides. I can also see both wheels on the driver side and just the edge of the Front wheel on the passenger side.

I got the K Source back in February after I ordered the trailer. They have been on the truck since and I'm very happy with them.

I tow a 21 with a Tacoma, and now just use the standard mirrors. I put stick on convex mirrors on both sides which entirely eliminate any blind spot, and I can see directly behind the trailer with a Furrion camera.
I have a clip on extension mirror, but found it an unnecessary hassle, and it vibrated enough to reduce its usefulness. If I were you, I would install the stick on convex mirrors and see how it goes. I also highly recommend the rear view camera option, but if you go that route, get a good one that will work while driving.

Use CIPA slip on mirrors for my 2016 F150. I’m pleased with them. I have towed using just the stock mirrors and that’s workable too.

With our 2016 5.0TA and 2015 F-150 we have the same view with standard mirrors. I had mirror extensions given to me at Osoyoos but they wouldn't adjust and all I saw was the road.

Just got back from picking up our 2010 17B, about 900 miles. 2015 F-150 with factory mirrors (main mirror and convex mirror). Was able to see all the way down both sides of the trailer, with extra view in convex mirrors. I see no need for extended mirrors.

Thanks for the help and information. I am going to stick with the stock mirrors and see how we do on our way home.

Not able to take a justifiable picture, but vehicles definitely show up better in the extended mirror. I like having the ability to see better, even if it’s just more of the high speed tree, tailgating me.

I can see what you mean from your photo. My mirrors consist of a large main plain panel (about 4x6) and an included convex panel (about 3x4). Between them they give about the same view as your mirror.

I bought these mirrors in 2012 and have used them on both my 09 and 14 Ram 1500 when towing my E21.

I took Jim’s advice and bought the towing mirrors he recommended.
They greatly increase your field of vision , are well built and inexpensive.

The night before I picked up our Escape 19 I bought a pair of aftermarket, one size fits all, towing mirrors in the Chilliwack Walmart Supercenter for about $50 cdn. I found them easy to install and helpful.

But your Ford has a much wider view than my Ram. Plus, convex mirrors also present a much, much wider view than stock mirrors. I used to get the stick-on’s many years ago, and they sure did help. My rear view camera also helps me see tailgaters, but it has a bit of vibration due to the bouncy trailer suspension.
Unfortunately, the tree is so close, that it obscures the view. I would’ve gotten a better picture, but I’m camped right now. These mirrors add several feet to the field of vision. Much needed for me.
These are the mirrors that Jim uses, and they make a big difference on Ram trucks. Camping World, near the border in Washington had them for around $50 a pair, and I got them right before picking up my camper at Chilliwack.
After using these, I will not leave for a camping trip without them. But hey, I also use a WDH too, even though I’ve never had sway. It only takes one time.
Takes 15 seconds to install, and don’t vibrate any more than the narrow stock mirrors.
Bonus; the view does not make nearby objects appear closer, like either convex or wide-angle passenger mirrors do. It’s easier to get back into the slow lane after passing big rig trucks on the inclines, because the angle of view isn’t so wide. Not even as wide as the driver’s side regular mirror.

We just picked up our trailer Friday and I too like to know everythings behind me. So far I've towed about 135 miles and already decided that I am going to purchase towing mirrors. I tow with an F150. I do have the rear view camera and like it but I find that vehicles need to be within maybe 5 car lengths behind to be of value. So with the rear view camera I can see what is close behind me, with my truck mirrors I can see my trailer and I hope to see farther behind me with the tow mirror extensions.
