Co-pilot worked today for us, and at a scarce moment for pullover.

I'm driving. You are passengering.
Though there are other things that irk me more, I wholeheartedly agree that the passenger should be keeping their head out of my view of the mirror. Not only is it inconvenient, it can be quite unsafe if you need to see from there.

Escape Artist, Unfortunately for those of us with Tacoma's, heat is not an OEM option. But you are correct, these after market mirrors are great options. For me, the OEM mirrors on the Tacoma are really small. I much prefer the larger size.

They never moved a bit, even on the forest service roads and I find with my 2013 Tacoma and 17B trailer they really make a huge difference, both in seeing what's down the road and in backing up. I bought them at Costco Canada - pricey, but well worth it in my opinion:

We ordered from Costco Online also, however, purchased both the tear-drop and the more square type since we weren't sure which one we would use. We ended up keeping the square shaped ones and Costco happily let us return the tear-drop ones.

We had one issue near the end of Our First Trip when we camped at Derby Reach. We unscrewed and took off the mirrors for running around town. In so doing, we didn't tighten the adjustable clamps which sit on the truck mirrors, and lost one of the screws. (One of the screws that hold the Milenco mirror onto it's clamp which sits on the tow vehicle's mirror). Luckily this was at the end of our trip since we had no passanger side Milenco mirror for towing the trailer back to store at Escape Industries.

We ordered a replacement clamp through EBay from Vanplus Leisure Ltd in England. The clamp took about a week to get here and cost 11.94 Pounds (around 25.00 Canadian). Very positive experience for us with Vanplus Leisure!

In the future we will remember to tighten the screws on the clamp if we take the Milenco mirrors off for any reason but leave the clamps on the tow vehicle (to prevent theft of the mirrors which can be taken off in a nano second).

I unscrew the clamps at the mirror housing and remove the whole thing. I'm not quite sure, but it appears that you are just removing the rod and mirror?

Same here, but really never considered otherwise. I take them off when the trailer is uncoupled from the car.

I also do the same. A great thing about taking the whole mirror off is that it goes on nearly exactly the same as it was before it was taken off, with minimal adjustment required. Makes it very easily to get going again without having to spend any significant time adjusting the mirrors.

Unless the passenger is my wife. It is officially illegal for me to be irked by her.

On taking off just the mirror / rod and leaving the brackets.

My thought was taking the brackets on and off a lot could eventually mark up the TV mirror housing. But we will be rethinking this in the future.

Got ya.
The bracket pads do leave a mark ( I use that to put them back in the same place ), but I've found it washes off.

The downside of removing and reinstalling when you get in a hurry!
Falling off at 60 mph is not a good thing
