Hi: t-twnbob... There's always a pin extenderRV Supplies, 5th Wheel Hitches and Electrical Plumbing by Tweetys...(Pop Up Ind.) which clamps to the trailer pin and moves the trailer back 10" or you can get an EZRoller hitch from Husky Towing We have one of these but never need to use it!!! Alf

I had a great talk with Reace today discussing my Tow vehicle. I have about 34 in. from the rear window to the center of axle and about 54 in. to the top of the bed rails. Reace assured me that these measurements were ok and that there would be no problem. I may not get a 90 degree of turn, but I don't see the need for that much. Should be fun! Bob

GMC says in their specs that the cab-to-axle is 31.97"... about the same thing.

The 5.0TA is 88" wide, so if you did want the 90-degree turn you would need more than 44" from cab to pin; that means either a long (8-foot) box or placing the hitch behind the axle, either all the time or as the rearward position of a slider.

Hi Bob

Reace can supply a sliding hitch for just such an application.
We are getting one for our short box Sierra.

Cheers Doug

Hi: t-twnbob... With our Nissan Frontier Crew Cab we have a 6' 1" box. I was fooling around in the front yard and forgot that when the truck is heading uphill the distance between the cab above the rear window and trailer is reduced. Oops... Alf

Hi Doug, that's the information I am looking for, someone who has "been there done that"! When is your delivery date? I will be very interested to see how you set things up and probably ask a question or two. Thanks, Bob
