You may want to check out the Toyota 4-Runner Forum. There are others with 2003 4-Runner (and older) who have reported that they are able to program their Scan Gauge II to read transmission fluid temperatures with their 4-Runners. Keep in mind that is not always a built in function of the Scan Gauge to read this code, but requires that the user program in the correct information that allows the transmission fluid temperature sensor to be read.

Scan Gauge

Our 2003 and 2006 Ford V-10 chassis motorhomes had a 3 position temp gauge, cold, normal, hot, no advance warning of increasing temps. I used the scanGauge to supplement plus it would give me timing info based on gas and other inputs. I believe I also had trans temps. My Jeep now has most of the info built into the dash.

Hi Bill:

I installed the scan gauge using the codes that you provided. Thanks very much. I was able to get the TFT to work but the TFP does not provide a reading. This is for a 2016 4Runner. Any suggestions are appreciated.

For Americans wandering around in Canada, you can also program the ScanGauge II to display kilometers per hour. On my Tacoma I can't read the red-on-black KPH markings on my speedometer, so this helps.

Hi Doug - I to have a 2012 Nissan Frontier - can you tell me what parameters you can monitor with your unit and where you purchased the device.

Thanks

Ron
