X-chocks are metal and heavy, whereas the plastic ones may not last as long. The sand pads are nice and you can put a plastic block under them. Recommend getting the 10 pack of plastic blocks. Also you will need wheel chocks with the Xchocks as well as blocks to raise one side in case of unlevel spots. Ramble makes a set of orange levelers. Finally you will need a spare tire jack which is a rubber chock type item which raises one wheel to change the flat on the other wheel. Camping World and Amazon are good sources as is Walmart and even Escape will have some at their factory.

Whatever else get the sand pads so you don't have to set blocks underneath.

I use the Bal X-Chocks when either it is fairly steep front to rear or if there may be a tenedency for the tongue to move sideways once off the ball. Dont be afraid to cinch them down. Also use rubber chocks available many places and sometimes just use them or with the X-chocks.

The sand pads are great.

I have used plastic chocks, rubber chocks, but the best I have found are these. Put them between the tires, step on it, and the trailer is going nowhere.

X-chocks: If you want to see something wild, leave a X-chock on the tires and drive off. It will come flying out of there. I have done the same thing with the Fastway chocks and all that happened was my truck tires spinning - the trailer wouldn't move.

Get the feet on the stabilizers, absolutely.

As for the X-Chocks, we use them and like them. But you'll still need a means of leveling side to side. We like the Andersen levelers.

Yep, I've done it, too. I even had an X-Chock pop out when the trailer was sitting on a slope. Now I only use it to help stabilize the trailer in a strong wind.

As for the lightweight plastic chocks, a strong wind can move the trailer enough to loosen them, then the wind can shift and blow them away from the tires. I've had this happen as well.

I recommend heavy rubber chocks. I got mine at Harbor Frieght.

I have the sand pads an like them even though we usually stack Lynx Blocks under them to keep them spread wide and a bit more stable than when closer to vertical. The pads spread out the pressure on them nicely.

I have used the X-Chocks for 6 years now, and love the solid feel they give the trailer. And chock of this type that stabilize the wheels would work fine.

I use a Lynx Block under one or two tires for levelling a wee bit side to side, and if any more levelling needed will use my Anderson levellers. I don't very often use them in campgrounds, but do use them a lot with dispersed camping.

And if there is a decent slope to the front or rear, I use a pair of those rubber wedge type chocks available at Princess Auto in Canada or Harbour Freight in the US. WAY better than the cheaper plastic ones, both in holding power and longevity.

I use the Fastway One Step chocks, like tdf-Texas. Once adjusted, they are extremely easy to install and remove. I also use Anderson levelers if needed and then only use one Fastway chock on the other side.

Yep. It's a very stable setup. It's been 3 years plus now and we see no reason to change it.

I have the XL version of these Fastway OneStep chocks. XL has a 16 inch minimum width. Does anybody know if the XL version will fit the E19?

We now leave our X-Chocks at home and use the Fastway chocks.

I doubt it. I had to adjust the standard ones to just about their narrowest settings. You might check with Fastway to see if they could supply a set of "arms" for less than the cost of the entire standard size unit.

Thanks for that info. Didn't think they would fit. I use the x-chocks on the raised side, the fastaways on the ground... I know I would have to replace the X-Chock (extended), was hoping the Fasttways would still work, but wishful thinking...

At Niagara Falls once when we were showing the 19 a lady asked me why so much stabilization. I told her “To keep the camper from rocking.”
She smiled and said “what’s the fun I that?”
But your combo is what we have used since we got the 21 and we like it.

In case someone stumbles across this in future.. Ran up to storage unit and grabbed my Fastway XL chocks…. I just had to remove the left bar and magically I have Fastway standard chocks….
