Doran Beach Campground – Bodega Bay CA – 3 Minute Review

We loved this local campground which is almost two hours north of San Francisco and a perfect spot. It’s next to Bodega Bay, which is where they filmed Hitchcock’s “The Birds” and is less than an hour to the California wine country. We had a great time and it was a very nice find.

Nice looking place Jeff. Maybe we'll go next weekend. How far do you think from Blacksburg? Never been to San Francisco before, so not sure of the time : - ) Sure like to go though. To the park, not SF!

I think from Blacksburg it's three minutes.. of course you'd be Captain HokieEscape of the USS Star ship Enterprise..

Actually it Bodega Bay wouldn't be a good choice if you're going to do a day trip into SF. The city is really quite nice place with a ton of sights.. the Wharf area is just crazy beautiful and the city itself is very walk-able.. I think the whole city is 7 Square miles.

You can definitely walk from the Golden Gate bridge through China Town and North Beach (Italian area and roots of the beatnik era) in a day..

Anyway, if you ever make it out here and we're home.. we'll can be your tour guide!!

We'll take you up on that! Looking forward to following the Alaska trail. Include some shots of your "pad" every once in a while. Have fun, wish we were traveling behind you : - )
