Early Spring Camping - Bay View State Park WA

We just returned from four days camping at Bay View State Park, WA. Weather was mostly sunny. When we arrived on Friday there were no other trailers there (!), although some arrived later in the day. This campsite is close to Mount Vernon & Burlington WA with lots of good shopping, and also close to La Conner WA where daffodils and tulips are grown. Because weather has been cool this year flowers are a bit behind, but there is still plenty to see.

See some pictures here:

A good place to camp, close to Vancouver BC and Seattle WA.

Thanks. I was using a Pentax K-7 with a Tamron 35-210 mm f/3.5-4.2 zoom lens. This is a lens I bought in 1987 for my Pentax Super A film camera and it works just fine with the K-7. I began using Pentax cameras in 1962. While a good camera is nice, "being and seeing" is more important!

Re: Early Spring Camping - Bay View State Park WA

We just returned to Bay View this week, since the last time we were there neither the daffodils nor the tulips were out. As usual, Bay View was a good location for exploring the area around Mount Vernon, LaConner and Anacortes. Only 10 serviced sites were available at Bay View because of maintenance work.

The daffodils were out, but the tulips were not yet out, except for a few at Roozengaarde.

We checked out Deception Pass State Park. We were surprised to find it was about 75% full despite recent wet weather, but only one fiberglass trailer (a Casita).

We also had a look at Anacortes -- a town worth exploring if you have not been there -- a lot to see.
