Heyburn Riverside Park; Heyburn, ID

Our first stop after Maryhill was a pleasant surprise. I picked the location because it was half way between Maryhill SP and our next destination, St George, UT.

The campground was built by the city of Heyburn, its part of a park complex along the Snake River. Walking paths, picnic ground, bandstand, and more are all part of the park. With 29 full service sites, once high season starts, it probably fills up really fast!

We got a nice pull through, called two days in advance to book it. Bath/shower house is spotless, free wi-fi, and low priced to boot. Large sites. Some trees and grass.

Two miles from the interstate, so no road noise, and I didn't see a train nearby either. So its quieter than most of our stops this trip.

I'd give this place a 10!

We stayed there on the way home after picking up our new trailer in 2015. We liked it. Large and modern restrooms, clean showers, a trail along the Snake River, and it was a nice sunny and warm change after all the rain we encountered throughout the PNW. We also had a pull through, middle row, about 2/3 of the way down, so it was close to the restrooms. And, the park was only sparsely occupied so it was very quiet.

Still on the road

We spent two nights at Ogden, Utah. We had lived in the area for 10 years and enjoyed visiting the popular places such as the oldest bar in Utah that has a stuffed St. Bernard head on the wall and 25th street which was very popular with the GI's that had some time to kill as the huge railroad yard was right at the end of the street. Now we are spending two nights at a very nice resort at McCall, ID and will spend today enjoying the scenery and local life.

Jack and Nancy with less than 500 miles to go and wine to drink and fresh food to eat before the border.

McCall is one of our favorite areas Jack. Ponderosa State Park in particular.

That 'oldest bar' be "The Shooting Star Saloon" - one of our favorite places on earth. If you are staying at the McCall RV Resort, our Monday evening bluegrass jam is a short walk across the street to the Broken Horn Brewery, 5-ish to 8...Glenn.
