Hope B.C.

We have the month of July planned out and booked but we are stuck around Hope for the August long weekend. Can anyone suggest a place to camp that is nice? Manning is full. Thanks.

Coquihalla Campground is probably the best. No trains and fairly quiet. Go to see the Othello Tunnels while
your there. Quite interesting. Marina

8) We've camped at the local, native-owned CG right on the Fraser River and it was more than adequate. Some of the sites are serviced, some aren't but it's not a bad place to park your rig. Staff is friendly and you're in amongst the towering trees with the Fraser River sweeping silently by. http://telteyetcampsite.20fr.com/
We used the shower facilities at the Hope Rec Centre and at $ 2.25 per person for great hot showers and a super-clean facility, it can't be beat either. Enjoy your stay!
Cheers,
Kevin

Kevin, some friends of mine just stayed there and would not ever stay there again. They said the traffic noise was bad and the staff were very rude...not friendly at all. Marina

Holee! Sorry to hear that. Well, no good deed goes unpunished, I guess. Better luck next time.

Re: Hope B.C.

There's a new RV campground in Sunshine Valley (about 20 min east of hope). Looks pretty basic (short perimeter trees for each site, etc) but may be worth a shot. It is pretty close to the highway though.

A bit of a drive, but worth it particularly mid-week, is up to Chilliwack Lake. Unserviced Provincial sites, but a beautiful lake and some great hiking.

Hi ......we hardly ever pay to camp. If you go just past Manning Park and look for the Pasayten River forestry road, you will find all sorts of nice places to camp ....for free. The Pasayten is a beautiful river. The road goes for quite a distance but you don't need to go far off the highway to find a great spot.
