Has anyone camped at Killarney? We are considering heading up for a week later this month, and are curious about the campground -- whether we should expect lots of people, whether we should make reservations, privacy, good sites, etc -- and about favorite hikes, kayak/canoe daytrips, and possible cell service (for streaming baseball game audio, it's the pennant race after all
Thoughts, anyone?
Thanks, Elizabeth and Dan in lower MIchigan

Took my son and nephew there a few years back. It is a headwater for canoeist . We went in July and had the place pretty much to ourselves out on the water. It was one of the most tranquil places I have been .
We have camped at many Ontario provincial parks and have always enjoyed their facilities. We have tried several times to go to Killarney, but in summer months availability is very limited. This time of year there seems to be sites available, but I would definitely make on line reservations because it does not have many available sites, and I have spoken to many people who consider Killarney to be the "must go to"provincial Park in Ontario. In late September and early October, I would expect that the fall colours will make it a favorite destination for campers.
I checked the web site and cell service isn't mentioned. I have been in the surrounding area on several occasions, and have found cell service to be somewhat marginal. If you decide to go, I hope you enjoy the experience.
