We live in San Antonio and we visit Mexico often. My wife was born in Puerto Vallarta, and we also fly down there every year to visit friends and relatives. BUT, personally, I would never consider driving across Mexico or towing a trailer down there, except to the Baja Peninsula. It's just too risky.

hi rb4 I have driven from van bc to cabo san lucas a number of times and have not felt threatened. except for stockton calif. what drives you to not feel safe in your side of mexico?. is it petty or organized problems that you would face.??

hi larry and liz I have driven down to cabo a number of times and have not been/felt threatened. however it is imperative that you travel with another party or parties. not only to have someone to help if you have a breakdown but to not feel so vulnerable. besides company is great.
