My friends trailer was stolen

My friends trailer small traditional stick trailer was just stolen in Chilliwack. She said it was at Heritage park not sure where that is. She had left it to get her truck repaired. So sad!

I'm so sorry to hear this. The park is just across the freeway and down a bit from the Escape factory.

Crap, my stomach just hit bottom. Kate do you have any information?
License number
Color
Size
Brand/model

I'll do my best to get this out on the Facebook trailer groups I belong to. A 13' Scamp was recovered in Washington State because of social media.

That's why I have a well hidden GPS tracking device in mine. The minute it moves I start getting text alerts indicating where it is. Should it ever be stolen which I doubt because I lock the king pin as well as one of the wheels, I will take immense pleasure in knowing that the scumbag(s) responsible will wonder how law enforcement caught them so quickly.

Sure it was stolen and not impounded?

Carl,

What GPS device do you use that connects to your phone?

It is an ALR-9. You can Google it.

We have a GPS tracker in our trailer as well. And several locks as well as the wheel boot clamp.

Super bummer on her trailer getting stolen. Good luck to her in getting it recovered.

Yeah, provide details so the word can get out about it.

I'm looking at a Spot Trace, it's about $100 to buy the unit and $10/ month for the plan. I was going to get one for my boat and one for the trailer. We put them on our ATV's at work which are very popular with thieves.

"Mount the unit with logo pointed toward the sky. It can be mounted beneath fiberglass, fabric, or glass, but metal obstructions should be avoided."

I wonder if the Reflectix would cause issues with the signal?

Is there any type of tracker that is a reasonable cost, and does not require a monthly fee?

An iPod touch, connected to 12v power constantly so the battery doesn't run down, hidden and with location services turned on. You wouldn't get notifications if it moved, but with the Find my iPhone app you could track it if it "disappeared." And it would work better than dripping paint!
