Nanaimo / Living Forest RV Park
Hey, we've only been here 20 minutes, so this isn't a comprehensive review.
But, so far, we got this ocean view site with full hook-up for $39 off-season.
It's about 15 minutes to downtown, 3 minutes to a shopping center.
pix attached.

Re: Nanaimo / Living Forest RV Park
I am guessing that the trailer puts you into overheight?
What is the apx. ferry cost for the trailer?
Looks like a good spot.

Re: Nanaimo / Living Forest RV Park
Trailer ( 17B ) is over height, but they changed the way that they charge fares and I believe that when they made that change, a couple years ago, it was actually cheaper for my combo - 17B and RAV. They charge by the overall length and I'm at 34 1/2' with the luggage rack on the back ( or I lied, since I can't remember exactly ). I need to get out the tape and measure it again. Anyway, fare for two adults Toad and TV was $151 ( with recent ferry fare increase ).
Also, you are limited to two propane tanks. I have the dual set-up on the trailer, but I also have a 10 lb. for the BBQ. They let me pass last time, so this time I 'forgot' that I had the 10 lb.

Re: Nanaimo / Living Forest RV Park
baglo,
I've camped at the Living Forest campground many times and it is one of my favourites. You will have fun. Are you exploring the island? Let me know if you plan on heading north to Port Hardy.

Re: Nanaimo / Living Forest RV Park
To the ferry and home in the morning. We were at Ripple Rock RV ( Campbell River ) last couple days and at Deep Bay overnight.
Sorting out the trailer for the coming camp season.
Making a list.
Replaced the battery in the smoke detector.

Re: Nanaimo / Living Forest RV Park
Ticket agent measured RAV and Toad for the trip home.
She came up with 34' ( they round down ).

Re: Nanaimo / Living Forest RV Park
Nice.
We went with #135 because the sites either side were vacant.

Baglo
Maybe I should rephrase that; check out the trailer in site #127.

Re: Nanaimo / Living Forest RV Park
Could I miss it? When was that?
Nice site, and quite private, and a great trailer.
